Re-opened in March 2026, EFCO® curtain wall, storefront and entrances – a brand of Apogee Architectural Metals – met the project’s historical aesthetic, modern performance and low-maintenance for its future needs.

With the aim of consolidating five public works departments into one campus, the City of Bend, Ore., wanted a facility that would serve long-term growth while being designed with resiliency, well-being and energy efficiency. The material that helped pull the City of Bend Public Works Campus project together was A606 Weathering Steel from The Bryer Company.

When leaks began appearing across several roof sections of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, each constructed from different materials during past renovations, the Mecklenburg County Asset and Facility Management Department sought a solution that could preserve the structure’s integrity.

Designed by The Miller Hull Partnership with local firm Steele Associates, in collaboration with Deschutes Public Library (DPL), the two-story, mass timber building more than doubles the size of the previous library and reimagines it as a vibrant, flexible, and inclusive civic space.

Initially crafted over 120 years ago, the copper elements and membrane roofing on the New York State Capitol Building were identified for replacement as part of a restoration effort.
