Students were encouraged to consider projections such as site availability, climate conditions, modes and destinations for air travel, and more that could impact the design.
Fentress Architects announced the shortlisted of projects for the 2024 Fentress Global Challenge. The 2024 call to action to graduate students was to design an airport terminal for the year 2100 CE.
Fentress Architects announced the commencement of the 2024 Fentress Global Challenge. We were joined by the founder of the competition, Curtis Fentress. Curtis sat with us to talk about the competition, how this year looks different and what the jury is looking for when it comes to selecting this year’s winner.
This year's competition brief challenges students to reimagine the terminal building in the year 2100, placing the new terminal at either an existing airport of their choice or in a location where an airport does not yet exist.
