Residential and commercial education sessions, along with timely regulatory updates, will headline the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance Virtual Summer Summit, taking place online June 23-24.

The event will feature expert-led discussions on packaging Extended Producer Responsibility laws, residential market trends and commercial best practices. FGIA staff also will provide updates on code developments, legislation and regulations affecting the U.S. and Canada. Attendees can take advantage of extended early bird pricing through June 9.

“When our members raise the issues that matter most to their day-to-day businesses, we listen,” said Florica Vlad, Events Manager at FGIA. “Their priorities shape our agenda, and we bring subject matter experts to deliver timely, practical insights that help them succeed. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge across commercial and residential sectors, along with the latest updates in building codes. Make sure to join us for the newest developments at the FGIA Virtual Summer Summit.”

Extended Producer Responsibility Laws

On Wednesday, legal counselors Rachel Bond and Sheila Millar of Keller & Heckman will discuss the latest developments in EPR laws across the United States. These laws regulate the disposal of certain materials used by manufacturers and other businesses.

With state EPR laws, including those in Oregon, facing legal challenges, Bond and Millar will examine the potential implications for states that have modeled their regulations after Oregon's framework. They also will address how current challenges to EPR and recycling laws could affect future policy development and administration.

Residential Sessions: Vinyl Trends and Security Screen Certification

Tuesday morning's residential programming will feature a panel discussion titled, “Residential Trends: 25 Years of Black Vinyl – Evolution, Engineering and Performance.” Panelists include Kevin Seiling (VEKA), John Todd (Vision Extrusions), Jeff Franson (Quanex) and Jonathan Hovey (Sherwin-Williams).

Later that afternoon, Jason Seals, FGIA Certification Services Manager, Fenestration, will present “Powering Marketplace Opportunity with New Security Screen Certification,” exploring how certification can support business growth and market opportunities.

Commercial Sessions: Blast-Resistant Fenestration and Site Inspections

Commercial programming on Tuesday morning includes “Blast-resistant Fenestration | What You Need to Know When Configuring Glazed Fenestration Products for Blast-resistant Applications,” presented by Lothar Erkens of Winco Window.

In the afternoon, David Vadocz of RDH will lead “You Get What You Inspect, Not What You Expect: Preparing for Effective Site Inspections,” offering practical guidance for conducting effective site inspections.

Codes, Legislative and Regulatory Updates

On Tuesday, Kathy Krafka Harkema and Amy Roberts of FGIA will present regulatory and legislative updates for the United States and Canada, respectively. On Wednesday, the pair will return with a codes update covering the latest developments in both countries.

Together, these sessions will provide attendees with an in-depth look at key issues shaping the fenestration and glazing industry across North America.

Registration Information

Discounted registration options are available for FGIA members. Non-members may register up to two individuals for $1,600. Registration closes June 19.
