TYPAR®, a Magnera Brand, has been named the 2026 Spark Award winner by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Leading Suppliers Council for its Clear Acrylic Flashing, an industry-first solution designed to improve installation accuracy, inspection confidence and long-term building performance. TYPAR—a leading provider of high-performance building wrap, flashing, tapes and accessories—was presented with the award during the Suppliers Reception at The New American Home 2026 in Winter Park, Florida, on Sunday, February 15 ahead of the 2026 International Builders’ Show (IBS).

The Spark Award recognizes building products that demonstrate forward-thinking innovation and meaningful impact across the residential construction value chain. TYPAR Clear Acrylic Flashing was honored for addressing a long-standing jobsite challenge: the inability to visually verify fastener placement and flashing integration once opaque materials are installed.

Unlike traditional flashing products, TYPAR Clear Acrylic Flashing is truly transparent, allowing builders, inspectors and installers to clearly see window and door nailing fins, fastener patterns, and overlaps during and after installation. This added visibility supports more confident inspections, reduces the risk of installation errors, and helps streamline workflows across residential and multifamily projects.

“This award reinforces what we continue to hear from the field—that visibility matters,” said Andrew Irvine, director of product line management at TYPAR. “Clear Acrylic Flashing was developed in direct response to real-world jobsite feedback and evolving code expectations. It’s a practical innovation that helps builders install with confidence and document performance without slowing down the build.”

The Spark Award marks the latest in a growing list of industry accolades for TYPAR Clear Acrylic Flashing, including a 2025 Best of IBS Award for Most Innovative Building Material. Since its launch, the product has earned multiple honors from leading building, architecture and construction publications and organizations, underscoring its role as a category-defining advancement in flashing technology.

Engineered with a high-performance acrylic adhesive, TYPAR Clear Acrylic Flashing delivers durable water resistance, cold-weather application performance and compatibility within the TYPAR Weather Protection System. When used as part of the complete system—including WRBs, tapes and sealants—it helps support consistent installation quality and long-term building durability.

“Recognition like this validates our system-based approach,” said Addison Seay, brand manager at TYPAR. “We believe innovation starts with understanding how products are actually used on the jobsite. Clear Acrylic Flashing is one example of how we’re helping the industry build smarter, more resilient structures—without adding complexity.”

TYPAR Clear Acrylic Flashing is available through authorized building material distributors across North America. More information is available at TYPAR.com.
