Westlake Royal Roofing Launches at IBS: E-Books, CEU on Underlayments, Cool Colors

February 26, 2024

Westlake Royal Building Products™, a leader in efficient and durable roofing systems and components, will exhibit its energy efficient and weather resistant roofing systems and solutions at the 2024 International Builders’ Show (IBS) from February 27 through 29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The wide range of roofing products will be on display in the Westlake Royal Building Products booth #C3819 in the Central Hall. Product lines to be featured include Newpoint™ Concrete Roof Tile, US Tile® Clay Roofing Products, Unified Steel™ Stone Coated Roofing, DaVinci® Roofscapes, and Westlake Royal™ Roofing Components. Additionally, the company will unveil four important launches at the show – the Unified Steel Material List Generator, Unified Steel Cool Roof Colors, a CEU course for architects on roof underlayments and a new DaVinci color exterior support series.

“We are looking forward to bringing our robust range of roofing systems and components to IBS,” says Steve Booz, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for Westlake Royal Building Products. “Our new roofing launches this year will appeal to builders, architects, remodelers and contractors. We’ve got something for everyone.”

The first of Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions’ four launches at this year’s IRE is its Unified Steel Material List Generator. An interactive tool that auto-generates a roofing product list,[1] the intuitive system significantly simplifies the estimating process for both Unified Steel Stone Coated Roofing, the ultra-lightweight roofing system that benefits from the structural strength of steel, as well as Westlake Royal Roofing Components, a range of integrated roof components designed to deliver a higher standard of roof installation and performance. The tool integrates seamlessly with roof measurements acquired traditionally or through 3D and geospatial measurement generating software. There is no cost to builders and contractors who use it.

Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions will also feature its new Unified Steel Cool Roof Colors, two hues rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC). Each color provides high solar reflectivity and high thermal emittance when solar energy hits the roof surface, detracting sunlight and radiating heat off the roof surface. The colors exceed California Energy Code (CEC) Title 24 Part 6 Cool Roof Requirements and, with a Solar Reflective Index greater than 20, meet Los Angeles County’s more stringent SRI requirements. The colors, Harborwood™ and Stirling Gray™, are offered in PINE-CREST Shake and PACIFIC Tile® profiles.

The company is also unveiling its new CEU course on roof underlayments for architects. The Importance of Roof Underlayment for Energy Efficiency and Fire Resistance course explores the roof underlayment as an integral part of the total roof system design and educates architects on the performance, benefits, fire resistance and weather resilience of various underlayment types. The course is accessible through Hanley Wood University and the AIA. Participants obtain 1.0 CEU credit upon completion.

In keeping with the 2024 trend and focus on home exteriors and colors, DaVinci Roofscapes has launched two new e-books in their FRESH series. Authored by international color expert Kate Smith with Sensational Color, the e-books provide “top-down” guidance on Fixed Features, Regional Colors, Environment & Surroundings, Style of the Home, and Historic or HOA Colors. The first e-book invites people to follow the “5 Steps for Finding the Perfect Hues for Your Home” and the second new e-book tackles the topic of “FRESH Colors for Homes with Brick or Stone.”

DaVinci will also recognize roofers from coast-to-coast who have received the 2023 DaVinci Masterpiece Contractor® Project of the Year Awards. Six residential projects and one commercial project have received the prestigious award. Qualifications for DaVinci Masterpiece Contractors to obtain the award include excellence of installation work, outstanding visual impact and ability of the roofing work to transform the look of a home or commercial project.

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 10am to 2pm PST, RoofersCoffeeShop will broadcast live from the Westlake Royal Roofing Solutions section of the Westlake Royal Building Products booth. Heidi Ellsworth, President of RoofersCoffeeShop, will interview industry leaders on new product introductions at the show, trends taking place in the industry and insights into show floor activities.

Displays of the company’s roofing product lines will also be viewable in-booth. In addition to Unified Steel and Westlake Royal Roofing Components, these include: composite shake and slate product lines from DaVinci Roofscapes; Newpoint Concrete Roof Tile, a durable concrete line known for its superior strength and long-lasting beauty; and US Tile Clay Roofing Products, a legacy line of clay tile manufactured to the highest standard of sustainability and craftsmanship.

All attendees of IBS are invited to visit the Westlake Royal Building Products’ booth which, in addition to the roofing selections mentioned here, will also include a robust range of product lines and launches from the company including siding and accessories, trim and mouldings, stone, windows and outdoor living.
