Perkins&Will’s Dallas Studio Welcomes New Design Principal

Eurico Francisco.jpg
July 28, 2023

The Dallas studio of global architecture and design firm Perkins&Will welcomes Eurico Francisco, AIA, LEED AP, as a design principal. Known in North Texas and beyond for memorable yet context-sensitive architecture and urban design, Francisco will apply his technical expertise and passion for building better cities to further the studio’s pursuit of design excellence.

“Perkins&Will has a stellar reputation for shaping spaces that enhance the way people live, and I’m so proud to contribute to this effort,” says Francisco. “The firm’s leadership is continuously cultivating an appetite for excellence, and that is not an easy thing to do day in and day out.”

A Recognized Leader in the U.S. and Abroad

With over three decades of experience in the architecture industry, Francisco has an extensive portfolio that includes healthcare, government, academic, research, hospitality, multi-family, and mixed-use facilities. His diverse body of work reflects a dedicated pursuit of lively, resilient, and prosperous urban environments that better the lives of their inhabitants.

A graduate of Harvard University and the University of Sao Paulo, Francisco is also an educator and mentor, having taught at the University of Sao Paulo, Boston Architectural College, Rhode Island School of Design, and Texas Tech University. He has been recognized with over 20 awards for his work in the U.S. and abroad, establishing a global reputation for his lasting impact on both clients and communities.

Inspiring Innovative Solutions for Equitable Living

In his new role, Francisco will advance the firm’s commitment to shaping the future of Dallas and the Southwest region by creating transformative, equitable spaces in which to live, work, and play. He will be responsible for leading collaborative teams across all phases of the design process, developing innovative solutions and mentoring staff while coordinating with clients, consultants, and the surrounding community.

“We are delighted to welcome Eurico to Perkins&Will,” says Ron Stelmarski, FAIA, principal and design director in the Dallas studio. “He is a warm and personable leader, and his values as a designer—sustainability, social purpose, and wellness, to name a few—align authentically with ours. The addition of this talent represents a significant milestone for our studio’s pursuit of meaningful and innovative architecture.”

Fostering Civic Engagement in North Texas

Originally from Sao Paulo, Francisco has called Dallas home for the last 25 years, demonstrating a long history of leadership and advocacy in the North Texas community. He is active in civic and professional organizations that work to elevate the quality of the urban environment, including the Dallas Architecture Forum, the Dallas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects, and the City of Dallas Urban Design Peer Review Panel. He is also a contributing editor to Texas Architect magazine and most recently served as jury chair of the 2023 American Institute of Architects Healthcare Design Awards program.

Francisco looks forward to continuing to foster dialogue in Dallas’ professional community, through both his civic work and his mentorship of emerging staff within the Dallas studio.
