The Precast Show is Feb. 8-10 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, marking the largest precast-specific trade show in North America and bringing together the industry’s most important suppliers and foremost equipment specialists under one roof.
Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute members flocked in great numbers to Tampa, Fla., for the 2023 PCI Committee Days conference, October 4-8. Attendance of 627 was the highest in the last 10 years.
The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute welcomed Jacques Cattan as its new Managing Director, Quality Programs. He will oversee PCI’s quality programs, including certification activities for precast concrete plants, erectors, and personnel.
Together, federal agency representatives, NEU members and allied industry association representatives discussed industry needs, current initiatives, and how all parties can work together to reach carbon neutrality throughout the cement-concrete value chain by 2050.
Grappling with context, history, and appropriateness, the design looked to the building and material typologies of the surrounding 1920s-era warehouses, as well as the masonry and concrete construction found at Huston Tillotson University.

Oregon State University has won the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institue’s (PCI) 2023 Engineering Design Competition, also known as the Big Beam Competition.
