The Concrete Masonry Checkoff (CMC) has named civil engineer Danielle Mokris as Southeast Region Technical Director for its recently launched Block Design Collective (BDC). 

“Danielle brings a wealth of experience to the role. Her unique combination of technical depth and communication prowess will be invaluable to our partners and will undoubtedly strengthen the Block Design Collective," said Kim Spahn, CEO, Concrete Masonry Checkoff. 

Mokris spent seven years working as both a research civil engineer and program manager with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). She represented the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a cold weather concrete subject matter expert and lead principal investigator for the ERDC concrete program. 

“I'm particularly enthusiastic about engaging face-to-face with architects, engineers, and contractors,” said Mokris.  “My experience has equipped me with the unique ability to speak the 'language' of technical experts while translating complex concepts for a broader audience. This role’s dual emphasis on technical insight and communication is what makes it so appealing.”  

A native of Panama City, Florida, Mokris received her B.S. and M.E. from the University of Florida. She is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Chair of the 306 Cold Weather Concreting Committee for the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
