The Rainscreen Association in North America (RAiNA) announced the official Call for Abstracts for the upcoming 2025 Conference, taking place on November 5, 2025.

This is a significant first for RAiNA, as they seek experienced professionals and thought leaders from across the building enclosure community to contribute to a compelling and educational program.

The theme for this year’s conference is:

Rainscreen Proficiency: The Parts, Precision, and Performance

The organization are especially interested in sessions that explore the essential components of rainscreen assemblies, the technical accuracy required in their design and installation, and the resulting performance outcomes.

What They're Looking For:

• Traditional technical presentations
• Panel discussions that bridge perspectives across disciplines
• Case studies highlighting real-world challenges, solutions, and outcomes

Topics of Interest Include:

• Installation challenges, best practices, and lessons learned
• Fire performance, fire-blocking strategies, and code compliance
• Sustainability and embodied carbon
• Retrofit design strategies and implementation
• Engineering and design innovations
• Integration with evolving building standards and codes
• Effective collaboration between designers, consultants, manufacturers, and installers

Abstracts must be non-commercial, meet AIA standards, and be structured to support a 60-minute session, including Q&A. Proposals will be reviewed by the RAiNA Conference Committee and selected based on relevance, clarity, technical merit, and alignment with the conference theme.

Key Dates:

• Submission Deadline: Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:59 PM
• Notification of Acceptance: Week of June 16, 2025
• Final Presentation Due: Wednesday, October 8, 2025

Presenters of accepted sessions will receive a complimentary full conference pass. (Maximum of two session submissions per speaker. Travel and lodging expenses are not reimbursed.)
