Huntsman to Unveil Icynene Products, Wall Assemblies & Live Spray Foam Demos at IBS

Huntsman.jpg
February 14, 2024

Huntsman Building Solutions (HBS), the global leader in high performance, energy efficient and resilient building envelope solutions, unveiled its new Icynene Series Spray Polyurethane Foam product line to builders, architects and attendees of the upcoming International Builders Show (IBS) February 27-29 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Huntsman Building Solutions will host numerous live spray foam demos of Icynene premium products daily at its exhibit space.

The Huntsman Building Solutions’ exhibit will also showcase two wall assembly solutions – D-Max Wall™ and W-Wall™. The company invites all event attendees to its space #P38 located in the IBS Outdoor Exhibit area near the Show Village to explore its spray foam insulation options and demos.

“We are bringing some of our best building envelope solutions for builders and architects to Vegas for this year’s IBS,” says Doug Brady, chief strategy officer with Huntsman Building Solutions. “We look forward to sharing the benefits of these building envelope enhancers with show attendees.”

The Icynene series spray polyurethane foam insulation product line will make it official debut at IBS. Encompassing a wide range of top-tier, energy efficient open- and closed-cell spray foam insulation, the Icynene series foams offer the highest performance available today in spray foam coupled with key product certifications. This line of products provides customers additional benefits including: hands-on building science assistance, technical service, marketing support, specifications, job referrals and much more.

“Not only are Icynene series customers getting exceptional sprayability and long-term product performance, but they also get access to high-touch customer service, building science assistance, and technical support,” says Brady. “This line offers an unparalleled package of benefits which will be felt by builders, architects, contractors and homeowners alike.”

Live spray foam application demos of Icynene series spray foam insulation, featuring professional contractors spray applying the insulation in a viewer safe booth, are scheduled at regular intervals during all three days of the event. “We look forward to showcasing the consistency, quality and sprayability of our Icynene series range in these live demos,” adds Brady.

D-Max Wall™, a wall assembly and continuous insulation solution, is the first wall assembly being featured in the Huntsman Building Solutions exhibit space. The assembly allows spray polyurethane foam insulation to be installed from the interior while managing thermal bridging of the studs and structure. D-Max Wall utilizes HEATLOK HFO closed cell spray foam insulation, which fulfills three key functions as insulation, air barrier and vapor barrier. Because spray foam is installed from the interior of a structure when using this assembly, the solution allows contractors to continue working during colder months, eliminating weather-related construction delays.

W-Wall™, a fire-safe load-bearing wall assembly utilized for partition walls between multifamily and townhome units, will also be showcased. A design solution created specifically for architects and builders, W-Wall is the first two-hour fire rated load-bearing wall assembly tested and approved for use with open cell spray foam. Huntsman Building Solutions’ open cell spray foam insulation solutions have been certified for use with W-Wall, providing sound attenuation and energy efficiency capabilities. Use of the assembly design meaningfully reduces construction and labor costs.

“Our wall assembly designs enable builders and architects to deliver enhanced homes which are more comfortable, provide long term energy savings and reduce environmental impacts,” adds Brady. “Each of these assemblies fulfills essential wall functions while providing true value to builders and contractors in the form of labor solutions and cost savings.”
