Hill West, the award-winning NYC-based architecture and design firm announced Jason Ivaliotis, AIA, NCARB and Julio P. Magarino as two new additions to their executive team. Ivaliotis joins as their Director of Design and Magarino, as an Associate. 

Ivaliotis brings sixteen (16) years of combined experience in architecture and design with an expertise in large-scale urban planning, multi-family housing, transportation infrastructure and mixed-use development projects. Prior to joining Hill West, he was a Senior Associate and Project Leader for ‘Starchitect’ firms such as Woods Bagot, Handel Architects and Robert A.M. Stern. Over the years, his professional work has been recognized with several awards by the American Institute of Architects and the Urban Land Institute, including a 2022 ULI Global Award of Excellence for the Essex Crossing Development in New York City. After earning a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University, Ivaliotis has remained connected to the innovative centers of academic research, serving as a professor of architecture at Columbia University, Parsons School of Design and the Pratt Institute. 

As the Director of Design, Ivaliotis is responsible for managing the design studio and overseeing the planning and design for the firm's diverse range of projects across residential, hospitality, multi-use and commercial sectors – supporting Hill West’s innovative and thoughtful approach throughout all phases of development. 

Magarino brings an impressive twenty-five (25) plus years’ experience in the New York market. Over two decades were spent at HTO Architect and he became COO. His work on 90 West, on behalf of Kibel Companies, BCRE & BD Hotels to reconstruct and renovate the north facade of the landmarked building, after being severely damaged in the 9/11 attacks received a preservation award by the National Trust. In 2018, he co-founded Form4 Design Studio, where he was Director, and worked with developers such as DDG and Adellco on notable condo projects such as 180E88 and 27E79 on the UES. Now at Hill West, their clientele of developers, hotel owners and others will benefit from his expertise – from navigating city agencies to New York’s zoning code and building laws, and more.
