The Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA)’s 11th annual Building Enclosure Conference just wrapped up in Denver, CO.

Day One was a whirl-wind of check-ins, plenary sessions and an award ceremony for Air Barrier QAP Award (Gibble Construction, Inc), Leadership Award (Denali Jones, Benjamin Meyer), Staff Recognition Award (Tamara Foncerrada) and Industry Partner Award (South Seattle Community College). The day wound down with the Board Meet & Greet, held in the Peaks Lounge on the 27th floor, where over 240 attendees mixed and mingled with Denver’s skyline as the backdrop.

Day Two begun with a lavish long breakfast for networking and the sessions were split into two tracks, covering new code changes coming and looking at building envelope case studies, and concluded with four prizes distributed to the top four of the scavenger hunt The Game, where participants found codes to answer challenges in the conference app to earn points.

Committee meetings and the hands-on portion of the training courses continued on Day 3, with installers and auditors putting the newly acquired knowledge and best practices to the test on mock walls off-site.

With over half the booths already reserved for next year’s conference, ABAA looks forward to seeing everyone in Reston, Va. for their 2024 Building Enclosure Conference.
