SOPREMA Introduces New DUOTACK SPF HFO Adhesive

October 5, 2022

SOPREMA®, Inc., has unveiled its latest highly sustainable roofing product, DUOTACK® SPF HFO Adhesive. SOPREMA’s proven DUOTACK® two-component, low-rise spray polyurethane foam (SPF) adhesive now features a hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) blowing agent, making it significantly better for the environment while also enhancing its performance for adhering fleece-back membranes, insulation and coverboards.

SOPREMA — a leader in the commercial roofing, waterproofing, wall protection and civil engineering waterproofing industries — developed DUOTACK® SPF HFO to help reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. DUOTACK SPF HFO’s blowing agent has a very low global warming potential, only 0.1 percent of that of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). DUOTACK® SPF HFO is also engineered to provide a quicker and easier application to save time and money on any project.

“One of SOPREMA’s primary aims is to supply high-performance products that are safe for people and the environment,” said SOPREMA product manager Matt Mitchell. “The new DUOTACK® SPF HFO formulation complies with all state and local environmental HFO regulations. It contains no ozone-depleting chemicals or HFCs, and it further elevates the product performance that contractors expect from a market-leading, low-pressure spray foam adhesive.”

DUOTACK® SPF HFO’s canister system provides faster setup and shutdown, and the trigger-lock dispenser with stop-and-start capability prevents material waste. Additionally, the ColorWise® Temperature Warning Nozzles change from clear to blue to indicate if the product is too cold to be properly applied. Depending on the weather conditions and type of insulation, the HFO formulation provides up to 20 percent additional coverage per set when compared with HFC blowing agents.

Key features of each set include:

  • Two 40 lb canisters with A & B components
  • 25 ft hose
  • Application spray gun
  • 10 ColorWise® Temperature Warning replacement nozzles

DUOTACK® SPF HFO’s easy-to-use, pre-assembled kit eliminates the need for expensive equipment to buy and maintain.
