The Simpson Strong-Tie branch in McKinney, Texas, is supporting the community of Uvalde with a donation of $10,000 to the victims’ relief fund managed by Communities Foundation of Texas. Simpson Strong-Tie is based in Pleasanton, California, and is the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions.
On May 24, 2002, the community of Uvalde was devastated by a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School. Nineteen children and two adults lost their lives to a gunman who entered the school. The donation will contribute to medical and funeral expenses as well as grief and trauma counseling in an effort to help support the families, victims and community impacted by this senseless and violent attack.
“The tragedy that occurred at Robb Elementary School was a heinous act of violence,” said Simpson Strong-Tie Vice President and McKinney Branch Manager Phil Burton. “We are committed to doing what we can do to help the people in our local communities, and we hope that our contribution will help defray some of the monetary impact for the victims’ families and ease their burden. Our prayers go out to the entire community of Uvalde.”
