Sto Corp., the innovative world leader in full system facades, received numerous honors at the 2021 Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) Hero Awards. The EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA) presents the prestigious EIFS Hero Awards annually to honor projects that exemplify the unique attributes of EIFS. The award-winning projects are examples of achievement in both architecture and performance within the continuous insulation (ci) industry. EIMA awarded Sto Corp. four merit awards and two honorable mentions at the March 23, 2022, ceremony in Amelia Island, Florida.

Sto's LaPorte Hospital was given an Award of Merit. Grayhawk fabricated 156 StoPanel® Classic ci panels, which were installed by Great Lakes Prefabrication in the construction of a modern healthcare facility. Prefabrication allowed for the quick and efficient enclosing of the hospital's exterior envelope in just eight weeks, ensuring the project stayed ahead of expected lake-effect snow.

Sto also received an Award of Merit for its Here Atlanta project. The 27-story project in Midtown Atlanta saw Southern Wall Systems use StoPanel® Classic NExT ci panels to work within Midtown's tight jurisdictional EIFS restrictions to create the unique circuit board aesthetic that the architects envisioned for the new Georgia Tech Student Housing unit.

Sto won additional Awards of Merit for the Louis M. Klein Middle School in Harrison, New York and the 207 W 75th project in New York City. For the Louis M. Klein Middle School project, contractor Elite Wall Systems used StoTherm® ci with a variety of aesthetics, including stone paneling and metal siding, to create a playful environment. For the 207 W 75th project, the challenge was to replace a crumbling porcelain facade, matching the original aesthetic while also enhancing thermal performance. StoTherm® ci Essence with Stolit® Milano was used to mimic a true porcelain facade, achieving the impossible.

Sto also received two honorable mentions for the Grand Concourse project in the Bronx, New York, and the Shannondale Main Street project in Knoxville, Tennessee.

"Every year Sto Corp. has an outstanding showing at the EIMA EIFS Hero Awards, and this year was no different. It's a matter of our ongoing commitment to innovation and partnership," said Paul Bieber, Vice President of Sales for Sto Corp. "We've led the industry with our EIFS solutions for years, and we will continue to for years to come."
