Premier, an end-to-end design, procurement, and capital management firm, is pleased to announce that its work with The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas has been awarded in International and US Territories Region with the Gold Medal for Best Renovation and Best Décor/Design, as well as the Silver Medal for the Best Hotel/Resort at this year’s Stella Awards. Premier was responsible for renovating the lobbies, common areas, luxury rooms and suites, updating all amenities, expanding the existing pool facilities, and adding a new world-class culinary venue.

“We’re proud to receive awards in multiple categories, as it represents Premier’s ability to deliver comprehensive solutions for the leading brands in hospitality,” said Hector Sanchez, Premier’s Chief Executive Officer. “As the hospitality industry recovers from the pandemic, Premier will continue to push the boundaries of hospitality design and development so that resorts including The Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas can continue to thrive in the decades to come.”

After the hurricane damage caused the resort to close, Premier’s comprehensive renovation of the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas led its comeback as a coveted vacation destination. Premier spearheaded the $100 million renovation of the luxury hotel, including managing interior design, purchasing, and project management. This project adds to Premier's growing list of partnerships within the hospitality industry including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG.

“For the resort to have received gold and silver medal awards in all three categories it was nominated in is a tremendous achievement,” said Carla Niemann, Premier’s Senior Vice President of Design. “We are excited to continue providing our clients with world-class design.”

Operated by Northstar Travel Group, the Stella Awards recognize hotels, convention and conference centers, airlines, and cruise lines that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meeting and events professionals. To be recognized as a Stella Award winner, they must finish in the top three in the public voting in each category and rank highly with the judges’ scoring standards.
