Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, is again joining other industry associations and organizations in supporting the International Code Council (ICC) 41st annual Building Safety Month in May.

Through its website, BuildingSafetyMonth.com, Building Safety Month offers toolkits for communities, companies and individuals, complete with social media guides, campaign promotion and images, along with templates for formal proclamations, press releases and letters to editors. As a Week 4 “Disaster Preparedness” cosponsor, Simpson Strong-Tie is encouraging the industry and the general public to learn more about the roles that resiliency and building codes play in making buildings safer and stronger.

Building Safety Month is a public awareness campaign held every May to help individuals, families and businesses understand what it takes to create safe, sustainable structures. This year’s campaign theme is “Prevent, Prepare, Protect. Building Codes Save” and spotlights specific areas of building safety through each week in May. Weekly topics include “Energy and Innovation”; “Training the Next Generation”; “Water Safety”; and “Disaster Preparedness.” The overall goal is to reinforce the importance of adopting modern, model building codes as well as implementing strong and efficient code enforcement and developing a well-trained, professional workforce to maintain the system.
