On February 12-13, 2020, the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) will host the fifth annual Infrastructure Day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
2020 Infrastructure Day will allow attendees to better understand the political landscape and how business in Washington gets done. Attendees will gain insights to open key federally influenced infrastructure markets, and will learn new skills to help them effectively lobby for key legislation that will inject hundreds of millions of dollars into the composites industry:

·    NIST Composites Standards Act - The passage of the NIST Bill will inject $11 million of research to model composites durability

·    IMAGINE ACT - Passage of the IMAGINE Act will create a combined $650 million pot of money that can be used by asset owners (states, cities) for innovative highway and water infrastructure construction

"The nation's aging infrastructure is top of mind in Washington and around the country. The nation's leaders have noted America needs more than a trillion dollars' worth of investment to rehabilitate bridges, water systems, dams and the electric grid. Composites are uniquely poised to provide real-world solutions to meet this demand," said ACMA President Tom Dobbins. "ACMA's Infrastructure Day is an exclusive opportunity for our members to engage directly with Members of Congress and other government officials to advocate for our industry. By coming to Washington to lobby for the IMAGINE Act and legislation to launch a standards and research program at NIST, we can position composites to be the premiere material of the future."

Throughout the event, key leaders from Congress, the White House, and federal agencies will attend, present, and network with composites business leaders. Attendees will have the opportunity to interface with leaders from:
·    Federal Highway Administration
·    Department of Energy
·    Environmental Protection Agency
·    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
·    Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works
·    Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources
·    House Committee on Energy and Commerce
·    House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure
·    Senators and Representatives serving member districts
