Arkema will be featuring a wide range of products at GlassBuild America, which is being held September 17-19, 2019, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Innovative solutions to be presented include Kynar Aquatec PVDF-based finishes for window and door applications, Solarkote capstocks for window applications, and Bostik, Inc. sealants and adhesives for building products.

Arkema’s Technical Polymers business will feature its Kynar 500 and Kynar Aquatec PVDF resins for use in high-performance coatings. With over 50 years of proven protection, Kynar 500-based coatings protect against weathering and exceed the requirements of AAMA 2605 standards. Kynar Aquatec water-based finishes are used to protect metal and polymeric substrates and meet AAMA 615, 625, and 2605 standards. Arkema also will introduce Deceuninck North America as a trademark licensee of Kynar Aquatec coatings. Deceuninck applies Kynar Aquatec-based finishes to its line of Rovex lineals to achieve long-term outdoor color and gloss retention.

With multifunctional Kynar Aquatec CRX latex—the first aqueous 2K system to meet AAMA 615 and AAMA 625 performance standards for fiberglass and vinyl substrates—customers can achieve the outstanding weathering, water repellency and abrasion-resistance properties of Kynar 500 PVDF resin-based coatings. A new Kynar Aquatec coating systems specification guide for achieving a project’s long life, durability and sustainability goals will be available at the Arkema exhibit (booth 1704).

Bostik, an Arkema subsidiary, will feature its full line of industrial construction adhesives and sealants designed to enhance operational efficiencies and improve building durability and aesthetics. Compatible with Arkema products and able to bond to Kynar 500 and Kynar Aquatec resin-based coatings, these solutions offer exceptional adhesion to glass, metals, and plastics. Additionally, at this year’s GlassBuild America, Bostik will launch an innovative, modified silicone backbedding sealant for faster and easier door and window manufacturing.

Arkema’s Altuglas International business will feature its Solarkote acrylic capstocks, which provide outstanding surfaces for window applications that demand excellent weatherability and durability. Acrylic layers provide long-lasting color and surface appearance to a wide variety of substrate materials. Typical applications include window lineals, decking, railing, siding cladding, fencing, trim, and roofing materials.
