Renaissance Roofing, Inc. announced that the company is a finalist for the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) 2019 Gold Circle Award in the category of Outstanding Workmanship for their historical restoration of the copper roofing systems of the Cascade County, Mont., courthouse. The award presentation will be announced on February 12 at a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn.

After nearly two years of work in Great Falls, Mont. utilizing local Northern Illinois personnel, the restoration of the copper dome and roof at the 115-year old courthouse was completed in April 2018. Community leaders are happy that the historic structure will have a roofing system that will protect it for the next 85 to 100 years. Cascade County Commissioner Jane Weber said the project was completed on time and within the original $4.3M budget.

Project details included careful installation of recreated copper balustrades via crane, as well as interlocking copper panels custom designed to prevent water leakage and damage to the historic structure. Weber praised the Renaissance Roofing crew as respectful of the historic building. "It is fabulous, and it's good value in the long run," Weber said.
