The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in cooperation with the Wei-Wen Yu Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Missouri, is a co-sponsor of the Wei-Wen Yu International Specialty Conference on Cold-Formed Steel Structures 2018. This year’s conference will be held on November 7-8 at the Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. A total of 1.6 CEUs will be available for participants.

The biennial event brings together leading researchers, engineers, manufacturers and educators involved in the design and use of cold-formed steel members for building construction to discuss recent research findings and design considerations. Twelve technical sessions will be presented during the two-day event, including presentations on:

• Member behavior
• Flexural members – web crippling and shear
• Flexural members
• Compression members
• Connections
• Technology transfer
• Rack structures
• Behavior of systems and frames
• Shear walls
• Roof and wall systems
• Diaphragm behavior
• Light-steel framing

The recipients of the Wei-Wen Yu Student Scholars Program and the Wei-Wen Yu Outstanding Student Paper Award will be recognized on November 7^th. These students are selected based on papers that they submit for the conference and present during the conference proceedings. A volume of conference proceedings will be available to participants at the conclusion.
