TowerPinkster Named “Best Firm to Work For”

Zweig Awards
Bjorn Green, TowerPinkster CEO and president (right), and Carrie Hoch-Mortlock, TowerPinkster human resources manager, are presented the “Best Firm to Work for in the Nation” award during the recent Zweig Group 2016 Hot Firm & A/E Awards Conference held in Phoenix, Ariz.
October 26, 2016

During the recent Zweig Group 2016 Hot Firm & A/E Awards Conference held in Phoenix, Ariz., TowerPinkster was received the “Best Firm to Work for in the Nation” award. The award distinguishes firms throughout the U.S. and Canada, recognizing those with the highest rates of employee satisfaction and best workplace practices.

Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, Mich.-based TowerPinkster employees participated in a survey to provide feedback on their experience with the company. Firm culture, employee benefits and retention rates were rated exceptionally high for TowerPinkster. Over 94 percent of employees who participated believed the firm is one of the best to work for in the industry, with the same percentage reporting that they would recommend TowerPinkster to a friend looking for employment. Other high scoring categories addressed management, ethics, quality of work and compensation benefits.

TowerPinkster is proud of this feedback and attributes the success to its hard working employees that make the firm award worthy. As the design and construction industry continues to evolve, TowerPinkster is impressed by the talent of its employees and the culture that makes the firm the best place to work.

President and CEO Bjorn Green, and Human Resources Manager Carrie Hoch-Mortlock attended the conference at the Arizona Biltmore to receive the award. Green attributed the award to “our vision to be a diverse, talent-based firm focused on our people.” He also said, “We accepted the award on behalf of our team members whose passion for their work, commitment to the community and involvement in mentorship makes our offices lively and enjoyable places to work.”

Hoch-Mortlock shared similar sentiments as she expressed, “It is an honor [for TowerPinkster] to be recognized as a leader in this field. This award reflects the dedication and passion of our great employees.” She also added, “It is great to know that our industry acknowledges the importance of employee engagement with culture-focused awards and programs.”

TowerPinkster also received a Zweig Group “Fast Growth Award” at this year’s conference. This distinction is given to firms who have grown 20% or more over the last year. The award demonstrates the attraction of quality talent to both the Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids offices, and the ability to retain highly qualified individuals ready to contribute to the firm’s culture.

The Zweig awards follow a number of other culture-based awards TowerPinkster received in 2016 which include the When Work Works “Flexible Workplace Award,” Engineering News-Record’s “Midwest Top Design Firms,” and the American Heart Association “Gold Fit-Friendly Worksite Award.”
