CertainTeed Debuts Product Innovations at 2016 IBS

January 19, 2016

Industry-first, high performance technology and stunning natural artistry combine for a remarkable ‘Beauty meets Brawn’ CertainTeed exhibit at the 2016 International Builders’ Show. North America’s leading brand of building products, CertainTeed is treating building professionals to a truly visionary new product line-up, informative “Meet the Experts” sessions, appearances by two award-winning celebrity contractors and more at booth #C2127, Jan. 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

A Power Wall
Discover the most exciting thing to happen to walls since the 60-inch flat screen! An impressive cornerstone of the the exhibit, CertainTeed introduces Habito, a powerful new drywall product. A dramatic rock wall climbing demonstration will show off the strongest and hardest ½-inch wallboard material ever created, featuring technical benefits previously unseen in the gypsum category. Its high-density formulation makes Habito much more durable than standard drywall, and even improves acoustic performance. With Habito, an ordinary screw can support up to 30 lbs.

Industry-First Siding
Must see to believe! Premiering four innovative, curb-appeal enhancing cladding products that offer unique beauty and benefits to any style home. They include:

  • Cedar Impressions Individual 5-inch Sawmill Shingles —  Individual shingles enable the selection of unique, random color patterns for one-of-a-kind exterior designs. Proprietary CedarLife Color Blends feature a progression of shades that capture the appearance of natural Eastern White Cedar and Western Red Cedar at different stages of life. A TrueTexture sawmill finish features patterns that replicate the effect of saw blades, molded from actual cedar shingles. Individual 5-inch Sawmill Shingles are currently available in select markets.
  • Cedar Impressions Triple 5-inch Sawmill Shingles — Available in 28 solid colors with TrueTexture sawmill finish, its patented offset mitered corner design also accurately replicates the craftsmanship of a true shingle corner.
  • Cedar Impressions Single 7-inch Perfection Shingles — Also with CedarLife Color Blends, TrueTexture perfection finish and a longer length panel featuring patent-pending innovative blended color throughout.
  • STONEfaçade — Molded from hand-picked stones, STONEfaçade has the look and feel of natural stone in a panelized system. A patented, integrated 3/8–inch rainscreen provides excellent moisture management, with a fastening flange for ease and speed of installation that eliminates the need for mortar, reducing the risk of moisture intrusion.  Available in select markets, STONEfaçade is currently offered in four colors in the Ledgestone profile.

“We are excited to show off our latest sustainable innovations, share insights with industry partners and show off the stellar work of our research and development teams,” said John Crowe, president and CEO of CertainTeed Corporation. “In today’s competitive construction market, building professionals need a wide array of reliable, cutting-edge products available from one manufacturer that will stand firm behind each and every one.”

CertainTeed’s extensive selection of high performance and sustainable gypsum and insulation materials, as well as roofing, siding, vinyl and cellular PVC trim, railing and fence products will also be on display.

In addition, industry professionals will lead a full three-day schedule of “Meet the Experts” sessions at the booth, addressing hot topics such as indoor air quality, moisture management, thermal comfort, color and curb appeal, roofing trends and overall good building practices.

Two celebrity appearances are also planned at the booth on Wednesday, Jan. 20 — Mike Holmes, host of “Holmes on Homes” from 10:30-noon and Scott McGillivray, host of “Income Property” from 2-4 p.m.
