TYPAR to Highlight New Product Innovations at IBS 2023

1.jpg
January 25, 2023

Hundreds of contractors, builders and distributors will get their first look at the latest innovations from TYPAR® at the 2023 International Builders’ Show (IBS), including the new TYPAR DrainableWrap™ Commercial, TYPAR DrainableWrap Peel and Stick, and TYPAR Construction Tape, which is now approved by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC). These new products, along with the full line of high-performance TYPAR house wraps, tapes and accessories, will be on display throughout the exhibit in booth #C4916. IBS runs January 31 – February 2, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Solving problems for builders on jobsites is at the core of what TYPAR does, which is why innovation is so important. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the building experience and streamline processes,” said Chelsea Collins, marketing manager for TYPAR. “We are excited for the opportunity to showcase our new products and look forward to getting feedback from industry experts at this year’s builder show.”

TYPAR DrainableWrap Commercial is TYPAR’s first drainable building wrap specially engineered to protect buildings four stories and above with an elevated ability to deal with excess moisture. Its patented meltshot technology adds an integrated layer of fibers to create an effective drainage gap, channeling wind-driven rain and bulk water away from the structure. Plus, it offers exceptional strength, surfactant resistance, optimal breathability and unbeatable UV protection TYPAR wraps are known for.

TYPAR DrainableWrap Commercial joins TYPAR MetroWrap in the company’s growing portfolio of building wraps designed specifically for commercial structures.

“Drainability and moisture management are growing concerns for commercial architects and specifiers, and the addition of TYPAR DrainableWrap Commercial offers a high-performance solution for protecting multi-story structures from the elements, while also delivering the superior UV protection and tear strength needed for commercial job sites,” said Andrew Irvine, product manager, TYPAR. “TYPAR is committed to supporting the commercial construction market, and TYPAR DrainableWrap Commercial is the latest example of how our product innovation can help address the unique needs of this industry.”

Also hitting the market this year is TYPAR DrainableWrap Peel and Stick. This self-adhering wrap pairs the unique drainage benefits of TYPAR DrainableWrap with the streamlined installation of a peel-and-stick application. DrainableWrap Peel and Stick is available in 4′ 10′′ x 100′ rolls to cover more area than average peel-and-stick wraps and can be installed in any direction without affecting performance. Additionally, it offers a wide cold temperature range and can be installed at temperatures as low as 10°F (-12°C).

Rounding out the company’s slate of product innovations is TYPAR Construction Tape, which was recently added to the Canadian Construction Materials Centre’s (CCMC) list of approved products, giving Canadian builders and contractors access to the complete TYPAR Weather Protection System for the first time. With more than two years in development, TYPAR Construction Tape installs fast, sticks tight and packs plenty of versatility. The tape is both UV- and weather-resistant for outdoor applications up to 180 days, is mold and moisture-resistant and can be applied in cold conditions down to -10°C (14°F).

TYPAR wraps, along with TYPAR flashings and construction tape, work as a part of the TYPAR Weather Protection System. The system provides the perfect balance of water/air holdout and moisture vapor transmission while impacting the home's overall energy efficiency. When installed together, the complete TYPAR Weather Protection System is covered by the only lifetime limited warranty in the industry including both materials and labor.

For more information on TYPAR, visit www.typar.com or stop by the TYPAR booth (C4916) at the show.
