Energy-Efficient Membrane Roofing System

November 16, 2015

A new cold liquid-applied reinforced membrane roofing system that can improve building energy efficiency, will be featured by Kemper System Canada at Construct Canada 2015 in Toronto Dec. 2-4, booth #1102.

With a high Solar Reflectance Index of 110, the Kemperol Reflect 2K FR ‘Cool Roof’ system can help reduce building cooling costs while meeting Toronto Cool Roof standards and eligibility requirements for LEED credits under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification program.

The bright white surface reduces the impact of infrared rays (IR) so it also reduces the Urban Heat Island effect, where heat radiating from buildings and asphalt raises the local temperature.

Supporting Sustainable Design

The easy-to-apply Cool Roof resin membrane system consists of 70 percent rapidly renewable resources, is fire rated for Class-A assemblies, and is odor-free and low VOC.

“Kemperol Reflect 2K FR extends our efforts to support sustainable design. It is an all-in-one Cool Roof system, so no reflective topcoat is necessary which reduces labor costs during initial installation and future maintenance costs,” says Kemper System Managing Director Richard Doornink.

It also offers the same advantages as the company’s best-selling Kemperol 2K-PUR membrane system, popular for Green Roofs and Blue Roofs. Both systems are fully reinforced membranes that can stand up to harsh Canadian conditions including: sun, wind, rain, ponding water, snow and ice. Both fully adhere to substrates, and are self-flashing and self-terminating. They can monolithically seal roof perimeters, multiple penetrations and virtually any architectural detail.

Kemper System invented cold liquid-applied, reinforced membrane roofing and waterproofing technology more than 50 years ago and holds the first patents.

Kemper System is also a leader in solvent-free and odor-free liquid-membrane systems and provides long-term, built-to-last solutions for: white roofs, green roofs, blue roofs, new roof assemblies, existing roof recovery, metal roofs, balconies and terraces, plazas, historic restoration, gutterways, interior and industrial applications and below-grade waterproofing.
