On Wednesday April 8, the British American Business Council Los Angeles (BABC LA) will be hosting a Los Angeles Real Estate Panel at the Christopher Guy Showroom located at 8900 Beverly Blvd in West Hollywood, Calif.

The event will feature three distinguished speakers speaking on architecture, real estate investment and commercial real estate. Degen Pener, who has been culture editor for the Hollywood Reporter since September 2010 will be the host of the event and moderating the panel discussion. Previously, he served as editor-in-chief of Angeleno from 2007 to 2010, and features director at Santa Barbara magazine from 2004 to 2006.

Andy Cohen, Co-CEO of Gensler Worldwide, will be speaking regarding design. As one of three Co-CEOs of leading global design firm, Mr. Cohen is a key contributor to what is acknowledged by its peers to be the most admired and largest architecture firm in the world. In additional, he is a Board Member of the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability and an active member of World President’s Organization (WPO).

Samuel Freshman, chairman of Standard Management, is an expert on real estate investment and syndication and has served as adjunct professor of real estate at the USC Marshall School of Business, as well as an expert witness in over fifty cases. He has also been the author of numerous articles on real estate matters.

To discuss commercial real estate, Simon Mani, CEO & Co-Founder of Mani Brothers Real Estate, will be in attendance. The crown jewel of the Mani Brothers portfolio includes 9200 Sunset Boulevard, which houses Soho House West Hollywood, Boa Steakhouse and Sotheby’s auction house. Their portfolio also features 801 Tower downtown, with the Patina Restaurant Group’s Zucca Ristorante on the ground floor; the Sunset Medical Tower; the Piazza del Sol on West Sunset (included on National Registry of Historic Places); the Portofino Plaza in Santa Monica; and 9000 Sunset Boulevard, located on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Previously, until December 2001, Simon served as President of Sara Lee Bakery’s Sara Lee Fresh division.

The panel is open to the public with tickets available for $40. Discounted tickets are available to current BABCLA members for $25.
