Grace Construction Products introduced several new products and services at the recent AIA show in Miami, Fla. The Grace Ice & Water Shield HT (High Temperature) is the newest addition to its line of self-adhered underlayments. Grace’s underlayments also include the company’s flagship Grace Ice & Water Shield, Grace Ultra, Grace TRI-FLEX and Grace TRI-FLEX Xtreme. These products extend the life of structures by protecting them against the elements. Grace Ice & Water Shield HT delivers premium in-place performance in high temperature applications where 240 degrees Fahrenheit thermal resistance is required. It is composed of two waterproofing materials – an innovative and proprietary rubberized asphalt adhesive combined with a high performance polymeric film with UV barrier properties. These materials form two waterproofing barriers that provide maximum protection. The rubberized asphalt surface is backed with a foldless release paper that protects its adhesive quality. In addition, embedded in the membrane is Ripcord, a unique, patented feature that makes Grace Ice & Water Shield HT easier to apply by giving the applicator a split release on demand. Grace Ice & Water Shield HT is designed for use on sloped roof decks in both commercial and residential applications. Specifically developed to meet the challenge of high temperature requirements, Grace Ice & Water Shield HT protects under all standard sloped roof coverings such as slate, tile, cedar shakes, metal and conventional asphalt shingles.
