Alcoa Architectural Products and Rheinzink® America Go to the Next Level

July 19, 2011
Alcoa Architectural Products and Rheinzink America, Inc. are taking the strategic partnership they formed almost a decade ago to new heights.

EASTMAN, Ga. - Alcoa Architectural Products and Rheinzink America, Inc. are taking the strategic partnership they formed almost a decade ago to new heights. Their collaboration produced Reynobond® Zinc Composite Material, a cladding material with the aesthetic beauty of zinc and the desirable qualities inherent in Reynobond materials. To meet buyer demand and facilitate delivery, Alcoa Architectural Products will now stock significant quantities of RHEINZINK coil material. The agreement effectively eliminates the wait time, prolonged by shipping the material in from offshore facilities, and brings the lead-time for ZCM orders in line with the standard lead-time for Alcoa’s Reynobond Aluminum Composite Material with a FR core. The agreement will make ZCM significantly more attractive to architects working on projects with tight time frames.

Alcoa Architectural Products will stock RHEINZINK’s titanium zinc alloy coil in Blue-Gray with a standard thickness of .5mm (.020 inches), a standard coil width of 1 meter (39.37 inches) and a standard RHEINZINK ‘Pro’ coating. Stocking RHEINZINK’s coil material enhances Alcoa’s capability to reduce the lead-time, and makes it feasible for the minimum order to be reduced from 4,000 to 2,500 square feet.

In 2003, the companies collaborated on the development of Reynobond Zinc Composite Material – a cladding material with the aesthetic quality of Rheinzink’s titanium zinc alloy and the strength and extreme flatness Reynobond materials are known for. Reynobond ZCM has a natural blue-gray, pre-weathered finish that develops a natural zinc carbonate patina as it ages. The ZCM panels can be roll-formed, shaped, bent, routed, punched or cut to achieve small radius curves, reverse curves, angles and other shapes to create dramatic and distinctive designs not possible with heavy plate or sheet material. ZCM also gives architects the option of using the heritage material in longer panels that will remain flat with no buckling.

RHEINZINK America, Inc. led the introduction of zinc as an important architectural material in North America and continues to provide comprehensive technical support to architects and contractors. Environmentally friendly and infinitely recyclable, RHEINZINK presents a distinctive appearance with outstanding longevity. For more information, call 781-729-0812 or visit www.rheinzink.com.

Alcoa Architectural Products offers a complete range of exterior and interior cladding and corporate identity solutions, providing architects with greater control over the finished appearance of their projects. The Alcoa family of products includes the revolutionary new EcoClean® coating, the Reynobond Face Fastened Solution, the Colorweld® 500 finish with the industry’s first 30-year warranty, and innovative materials such as the Reynobond Design Line, Anodized Reynobond and Reynobond with KEVLAR®, in addition to classic Reynobond ACM, Reynobond Natural Metals (Zinc, Copper and Brushed Aluminum) and Reynolux® profiled panels and flat sheet.

Alcoa Architectural Products is a business unit of Alcoa, the world’s leading producer of aluminum products. For more information about Reynobond Zinc Composite Material with RHEINZINK’s titanium zinc alloy, call 800-841-7774 or visit www.reynobond.com.
