This is Metl-Span’s eighth manufacturing facility in the U.S. and Canada. Renowned as North America’s largest steel producer and recycler, Metl-Span’s parent company, Nucor, produces steel by recycling scrap metal in electric arc furnaces to make high-quality steel products, positioning itself as a global leader in sustainable steel manufacturing.
Because time waits for no one, keeping enclosure time at a minimum was vital in the construction of the Solano County SB 1022 Classroom and Vocational Training Center in Fairfield, Calif. Building codes require the building be enclosed before much of the inside work begins, so Metl-Span’s HPCI Barrier Wall Panels were prescribed to keep construction moving along.
A major renovation and addition to a building that’s a part of the Tech Parks Arizona has created additional working space for potential research and development tenants. Aesthetics played a large role in the choice of insulated metal panels from Metl-Span for the addition.
Design-build projects for the public sector always come with specific requirements with little room for flexibility. The City of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., wanted its new Operations Center to meet the requirements of LEED Silver certification, look great and be designed to withstand 205 mph ultimate wind speeds, all while staying within a strict budget.
