Modified bitumen roof assemblies have been around since the 1970s, making it one of the oldest roof technologies still in use today. Join this webinar to understand the reasons for its long term success and the advantages that it brings to projects today. It will cover the chemistry of modified bitumen and how the quality of the blend impacts the final material performance. There will be a discussion on the application methods for modified bitumen membranes as well as the options to finish and cap a modified roof assembly. The course will finish with case studies where modified bitumen roof assemblies were chosen to protect the building and occupants.

Learning objectives:

  1. Explain the impact of the chemistry and formulation on modified bitumen roof membranes
  2. Differentiate between different types of modified bitumen membranes and how they compare to built up roofs.
  3. Identify the different application types and surfacing options for modified bitumen systems.
