Technical Details: New Year’s Resolutions

I stopped making New Year’s resolutions when I came to the realization that I am at the point in my life where I will not be in control of many of the changes that I will make moving forward. This is a roundabout way of stating that I am set in my ways. As I touch the half century mark I understand the road I am on and find comfort in the path I have chosen. I will continue to strive for accomplishments — but they are better defined and purpose driven. I am fortunate that dreams turned into goals that — for the most part — became my reality.

That is not to say there were not failures or disappointments. I guess with age I have learned to accept these facts and work within myself to avoid them while knowing they are often unavoidable because we do not always have full control of every situation.
