DIGroup Architecture (DIG), an award-winning architecture, interiors and graphics firm, has announced that Anthony Covington has been named director of business development, Philadelphia region. In this role, the life-long Philadelphia native will focus on cultivating awareness of the firm, building new relationships and maintaining existing client partnerships throughout the greater Philadelphia market.

Covington will support business development efforts across a range of sectors, including K-12  and higher education, healthcare, community and civic spaces and senior living, helping to expand DIG’s presence and strengthen its position in the region.

“I’m excited to join DIG at a time of opportunity and growth,” said Covington. “This role feels like a new beginning – an entrepreneurial opportunity to build relationships, connect with the community and help expand DIG’s presence in a city I’ve always called home.”

Covington brings extensive experience in business development and client-relationship management within the architecture, real estate, engineering and construction industry.

His career began in the office furnishings sector, where he gained early business experience before launching his own company, Covington Furniture Solutions. He later transitioned into a consulting role, working with one of the largest office-furniture providers in Philadelphia. He went on to help develop a Philadelphia office for a large NYC-based furniture dealer with operations in New Jersey before being recruited to the owner’s representative side of the industry, further expanding his expertise in project delivery and client advocacy.

For the past nine years, he has focused on the architectural space, continuing to strengthen relationships and drive growth across the region. Outside of his professional work, Covington is a devoted father and often speaks about his daughter as a central source of pride and motivation.

“Anthony’s deep roots in Philadelphia and his ability to build meaningful relationships across industries make him a tremendous asset to our team,” said Vince Myers, DIG president. “His understanding of the local market and entrepreneurial approach will play a key role in advancing our growth strategy in the region.”

Covington is actively involved in numerous industry and community organizations. These include serving on the executive committee of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Mid-Atlantic Region and contributing to the Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) Philadelphia Chapter’s DE&I initiatives.

DIG continues to expand its presence across the Northeast through strategic hires and project work in key markets across Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, New Jersey and New York.

DIGroup Architecture LLC is an award-winning certified MBE and SBE architecture, interior design and graphics, signage and wayfinding design firm headquartered in New Brunswick, N.J., with offices in Philadelphia, PA, and Queens, NY. Formed in 2006, DIG specializes in the PK-12 and higher education, healthcare, senior living, civic and community and transportation sectors.
