Wells Relocates DEX Manufacturing Operations to Kissimmee, Florida

This move expands capabilities by leveraging Wells full-service resources

Wells, a leader in prefabricated building solutions across the United States, has relocated its DEX® designer concrete operations from Atlanta, GA, to the Kissimmee, FL, campus, expanding resources to support the specialized DEX design solutions delivered to clients across the U.S.

Formulated for crafting iconic architectural, interior, and facade applications, the DEX designer concrete system leverages high to ultra-high-performance concrete and terrazzo mixes to deliver high strength and durability. This enables thinner sections than traditional systems, while achieving distinct architectural details.

Relocating the operation to Kissimmee, adjacent to an existing Wells manufacturing facility, connects the DEX operations to the larger Wells resources to support greater efficiency and stronger collaboration throughout the design and construction process. This new Wells location, which specializes in DEX building systems, gains access to more than 200 local Wells team members and a range of in-house capabilities, including CNC equipment, a full welding department, mold building, drafting, engineering support, and backup mixers. This integrated environment allows the team to manage nearly every stage of manufacturing internally.

“Our goal was to position our DEX manufacturing where it could leverage and grow through access to the full strength of Wells resources,” said Dean Gwin, president of Wells’ Southeast region. “By relocating to Kissimmee, with expanded in-house capabilities, we are able to provide the same exceptional quality expected with our DEX designer concrete, with faster turnaround, bringing this unique system closer to our clients so they can see first-hand how it can help achieve their design vision.”

The relocation also strengthens both logistics and the client experience. With access to the Kissimmee shipping department, deliveries can be coordinated through Wells existing fleet. Additionally, a first-class sample and mockup area is being created to feature an expanded range of colors, textures, and larger pieces, giving designers a clearer view of the possibilities DEX designer concrete brings to their projects.

From luxury residences to boutique hotels to high-end retail, the DEX system is known for creating stunning exterior and interior building solutions utilized in designs for clients like Brown Jordan, Hawks Pavilion at the Joslyn, Nike Miami and Coda Tech Square locations throughout the U.S.
