SOPREMA US announced the expansion and rebranding of its Schoolcraft facility, formerly known as Chem Link. A ribbon-cutting and celebration event will be held on Wednesday, June 25, to mark the official transition to SOPREMA Schoolcraft, reflecting the facility’s integration and continued importance within the broader company operational footprint.

Acquired by SOPREMA in 2016, the Chem Link brand has maintained its reputation for high-performance sealants and adhesives. Today, Schoolcraft continues to manufacture Chem Link products while embracing a new era of innovation, growth, and alignment with the company's broader vision.

“This event represents an important milestone for our team and the future of SOPREMA in Schoolcraft,” said Tim Kersey, CEO of SOPREMA US. “We’re proud of how far this great team has come and excited about where they are headed. This building expansion and rebranding reflect the growth of our capabilities and our continued commitment to delivering trusted high-performance solutions to our customers.”

Expansion Highlights

The investment includes a 51,000-square-foot warehouse addition and a new quality assurance lab, as well as the installation of an energy-efficient solar array. Key features include:

Warehouse Expansion

o    51,000 sq ft addition

o    Building Management System (BMS) controls HVAC efficiency

o    Energy-saving LED lighting with occupancy sensors

New Quality Assurance Laboratory

o    New laboratory for comprehensive analytical testing

o    Purpose-built for testing accuracy and scalability

Sustainability Commitment

o    522 kW solar array installed on the facility’s roof

o    Expected to offset 32% of total energy use

o    Annual power generation equivalent to 60 residential homes

SOPREMA now operates multiple buildings in Schoolcraft, positioning the site as a central hub for advanced product manufacturing and quality assurance.

This expansion allows us to better serve our customers with greater consistency and speed,” said Darci Kunard, National Sales Manager for Sealants and Adhesives at SOPREMA. “As the demand grows for high-quality sealants and adhesives, having the right infrastructure in place allows us to innovate faster and scale smarter.”
