A broad variety of advanced commercial buildings were on display when Guardian Glass North America honored the glaziers and fabricators who made them possible at its 8th annual Commercial Project Awards event March 3 in Las Vegas.

“Guardian Glass is honored to work with the talented glaziers and fabricators who brought the architects’ vision to life in these projects,” said Alan Kinder, Director of Commercial Demand Creation, Guardian Glass. “Our 2025 winners are just a slice of the hundreds of projects our partners execute every year. Their talent and skill in delivering buildings clad in Guardian SunGuard™ high-performance coatings continues to impress.”

The six regional winners were selected from 36 nominees by these glass industry leaders:

  • Tom Culp – Energy Code Consultant (Birch Point Consulting), National Glass Association
  • Deb Levy – CEO, Key Media & Research
  • Sara Neiswanger – Associate Director, Industry Engagement, National Glass Association
  • Ellen Rogers – Vice President of Editorial Content, Key Media & Research
  • Max Perilstein – Communication Strategist, Sales Source Consultants

Guardian Glass thanks these individuals for their judging expertise during the 2025 awards process, and for their ongoing advocacy for all in the glass industry.

The judges selected the following projects as the 2025 Guardian Glass Commercial Project Award Winners:

Architect:         Weber Thompson

Glazier:             Mission Glass

Fabricator:      Garibaldi Glass Industries, Inc.

Judge Comment:

… it's reaching a new level of design goal when it comes to being the first mass timber office building in Seattle and, on top of it, achieving LEED® Platinum status.

Midwestern United States

Piper High School

Location:         Kansas City, Kansas

Size:                   Medium (10–49,999 square feet)

Judge Comments:

  • This project highlights the use of large glazing to promote transparency and connectivity inside and out in an educational setting, simultaneously with high performance energy efficiency, daylight and views.
  • … a beautiful integration of the existing school and new construction.
  • … setting a new standard for the state …

Northeastern United States

Location:         Lexington, Mass.

Size:                   Large (50–99,999 square feet)

Glazier:             Sunrise Erectors

Fabricator:      Press Glass

Judge Comments:

  • … suits its location, looking like a wave of water. … The blue/silver colors along with the curve façade evoke a feeling of tranquility. I love the dimensions to the building that were enhanced through the use of glass and louvers. It's a striking blend of modernist and modern-day.
  • This project is a great example of the use of glass in combining form, aesthetics and energy performance. The neutral reflectivity of the selected low-E coating highlights the sleek curvature and opaque metal areas, and the addition of the IS-20 4th surface low-E coating highlights their commitment to added energy performance.

Southern United States

8111 Douglas / Lincoln Properties Global Headquarters

Location:         Dallas

Size:                   Extra Large (100–199,999 square feet)

Judge Comments:

  • The scale of glass … is impressive, in appreciation of the jurisdiction requirements. … a picture of how design team collaboration can bring the best out in project.
  • In addition to the use of glazing to provide expansive daylight and views balanced with subtle reflectivity and solar control, this project adds interest (and fabrication complexity) with the trapezoidal lines.

Canada

Bibliothèque Gabrielle-Roy

Location:         Laval, Quebec City

Size:                   Large (50–99,999 square feet)

Judge Comments:

  • Expansive use of glass that provides light and view important to the multiple functions of this building, along with an interesting glass terrace.
  • The building's signature element, the gold ceiling, was enhanced by the glass and the uniqueness of its application.
