PSMJ & METALCON Launches Disaster Rebuilding Fund

PSMJ Resources, Inc. together with METALCON, is calling on industry partners to support the PSMJ Disaster Rebuilding Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on rebuilding communities affected by natural disasters.

“This is not just a call to action—it’s a heartfelt plea for all of us to unite and make a tangible difference in the lives of those devasted by natural disasters,” said PSMJ & METALCON Founder and CEO Frank A. Stasiowski, FAIA. “We need your support, your creativity, your expertise and your passion to help restore these communities. Together, we can create spaces that heal, inspire and uplift for generations to come.”

This initiative marks a significant expansion from what was originally established as the Gulf Coast Rebuilding Fund in 2005 by Stasiowski alongside his wife Joan, in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Together with many industry partners, they raised significant funds to help design and rebuild community centers in the hardest-hit communities, including the Bay St. Louis Community Center in Mississippi.

In response to a broader coast-to-coast need for rebuilding resources after natural disasters, the PSMJ Disaster Rebuilding Fund is dedicated to uniting the entire AEC community in this movement by contributing time, talent and financial resources.

The fund’s immediate focus is on aiding rebuilding efforts for the public library devastated by Hurricane Helene in Hot Springs, North Carolina—a vital resource for this small community along the Appalachian Trail. Additionally, the fund is closely monitoring and preparing to assist communities in Southern California impacted by ongoing wildfires. Unlike traditional immediate relief organizations, the PSMJ Disaster Rebuilding Fund is solely dedicated to post-disaster rebuilding efforts that often fall out of the spotlight.

PSMJ & METALCON encourages the submission of projects or needs for consideration in the wake of this disaster.

“Whether you can lend your skills, time or resources, every contribution counts,” added Stasiowski. “Let us come together with compassion and determination to transform despair into hope and destruction into renewal.”

Stasiowski emphasized that natural disasters impact not only the physical landscape but also the lives of countless individuals. “These events are not just statistics—they are stories of loss, heartache and the unbreakable human spirit. They call on us to fulfill our shared responsibility to help rebuild what has been lost.”

He further underscored the unique role of professionals in the metal construction industry in driving lasting change. “We have the skills and expertise to design and construct not only buildings but safe havens, resilient infrastructure and thriving communities capable of withstanding future challenges.”

“This vision is within our reach, but we cannot do it alone,” concluded Stasiowski.  “Let’s harness our collective strength to create a brighter, more sustainable future for those who need it most. Together, we can be the architects of change and the engineers of hope.”
