January 11, 2025

S-5!, the leading authority on metal roof attachment technology, announced the addition of Ken McLauchlan as its new National Accounts and Business Development Manager. This strategic hire is part of the company’s effort to meet the growing demand for its snow retention products across the United States.

McLauchlan will concentrate on snow retention and utility applications for metal roofs, collaborating closely with industry partners, end users, design professionals, contractors and distributors. One of his primary objectives is to raise awareness of the S-5!’s uniquely designed, engineered and tested systems that meet the specific requirements, roof profiles and diverse weather conditions found across North America.

With 32 years of experience, McLauchlan brings a wealth of expertise in material and machinery solutions, with a strong focus on architectural sheet metal and Division 7 “Thermal and Moisture Protection.” His career has encompassed multiple roles including installation, estimation, sales, project management and operations management. He has represented both contractors and manufacturers, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of the business.

Originally from Canada, he began his career as a machinist and quickly transitioned to the architectural sheet metal field. Over the years, he has worked for several leading companies including Englert, Drexel Metals, Unimet and MetalForming, and has also been involved in contracting with Colony Metal, B&M, Southam & Associates. His knowledge of the industry and dedication to its growth make him a valuable addition to the S-5! team.

McLauchlan is actively involved and a respected advocate for the industry, contributing his time and expertise on the board of directors for the Metal Construction Association and as vice chair for its Metalforming Equipment Council / Rollforming (MFEC). His past contributions include active participation in various trade associations, local government committees, and providing strategic advisory support to the Colorado National Guard.

“I am excited to be part of the S-5! team and to play a key role in advancing the company’s snow retention business,” said McLauchlan. “I have been blessed and embraced by this industry and its pioneers throughout my entire career, including Rob Haddock and the Haddock family, with whom I have had a longstanding professional relationship as a client, customer and distributor of S-5! I am here because of the company’s culture and its dedication to the industry. I am eager to give back to the industry that has given so much to me and my family.”

“Ken is an incredible asset to our team, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the S-5! family,” said Rob Haddock, S-5! CEO and Founder. “His extensive experience and passion for the industry will be instrumental in driving growth and success, particularly in snow retention and utility applications. We are excited to have him on board.”
