SPFA Welcomes Frank Mortl III as Executive Director

SPFA
April 1, 2024

SPFA.jpgThe Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA), the educational and technical resource to the spray polyurethane foam (SPF) industry, today announced that Frank Mortl III, CAE has officially joined the organization as Executive Director. In his role, Mortl will facilitate strategic direction on behalf of the SPFA’s Board of Directors and committees, along with leading staff in key marketing and membership activities with the primary goal of continuing the group on its path of growth.

Former Executive Director Rick Duncan, PhD, PE, who is recognized for his commitment to the organization and success in the role the past few years, will continue to support SPFA in the role of Technical Consultant.

“The SPFA Board of Directors, committees, staff and members are all excited to welcome Frank as our new Executive Director,” says Bonnie Strickler, 2022 – 2024 President of the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance. “With a blend of experience in nonprofit and trade association management, as well as deep expertise serving both the contractor and manufacturer audiences, Frank is well equipped to take the reins and assist us in growing our membership, programs and offerings.”

Mortl is a seasoned association management leader with a long history of success in driving membership and revenue growth in nonprofit organizations. Most recently, he held the position of Executive Director for the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE). In prior roles, Mortl served as Executive Director of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) and as President of the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA). During his tenure with AFSA, Mortl grew the operational budget year-over-year while gaining extensive experience serving the association’s contractor members.

“My primary role with SPFA is to listen to, understand and respond to the needs of our spray foam industry members,” says Frank Mortl III, CAE. “It’s clear the leadership of SPFA has produced a strong foundation for engaged companies to extract a tangible return on their investment. Current goals include expanding partnerships, growing SPFA’s professional certification programs, and heightening awareness of legislative advocacy efforts. Ultimately, a major initiative is membership growth of our industry’s contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and stakeholders into this dynamic organization.”
