The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) elected Jim Fabinski as its new Chair at the 2024 PCI Convention in Denver, Colo., February 6-10. Attendance totaled 1013, almost matching the previous year’s record attendance.

There were many memorable moments during the annual event. These included dozens of college students visiting companies at the second annual PCI Student Job Fair. Ten new PCI Titans of the Industry recognizing members who made lasting contributions to the precast concrete industry were honored, and hundreds of members attended the annual PCI Design Awards Cocktail Reception.

“PCI made great progress with industry sustainability initiatives at our Convention in Denver,” said Fabinski, vice president/general manager at EnCon Colorado. “We look forward to sharing with the market the attributes that make precast concrete the most sustainable construction material.”

Cheryl Lang, president of Tindall Corporation, joined the PCI board’s officers as secretary/treasurer. Six others were elected as new board members: Phillip Iverson, of Tindall Corporation; Corey Greika, of Coreslab (INDIANAPOLIS); Ashley Fortenberry, of Tindall Corporation; Chris Rogers, of Metromont Corp.; Alan Lebihan, of Unistress Corp.; and Philip Miller, of Alfred Miller Companies.

“It was nice to see our members travel to Denver for the 2024 PCI Convention in such great numbers,” said PCI President and CEO Bob Risser. “This was a special meeting kicking off a year celebrating PCI’s 70th anniversary. Many members reported that they are looking forward to a productive and successful 2024. I’m also looking forward to working with new PCI Chair Jim Fabinski and our new PCI Board members for the next year.

“Everyone enjoyed the many special events, including the second PCI Student Job Fair which reminds us that the precast concrete industry will be in good hands in the future,” Risser added. “Finally, congratulations to all of the deserving award winners who were honored for their many contributions throughout their careers especially the latest group of PCI Titans who were recognized for their life-long contributions at a special dinner in their honor.”

Several deserving people were recognized during the PCI Annual Members Meeting and Luncheon for their outstanding contributions to PCI and the precast concrete industry.

  • Harry Gleich is the recipient of the Medal of Honor, PCI’s most prestigious award. He is recognized for his precast concrete design work across various projects.
