Jill Bloom, group publisher of Roofing ContractorWalls & Ceilings, and Building Enclosure, chats with the CEO of IIBEC, Brian Pallasch. Brian joined us to discuss the upcoming convention happening March 8-11 in Phoenix, Ariz., which is expected to be even bigger than last year’s.

Listen in as Brian chats about the recreated Excellence in Building Enclosure Award. This newly rebranded award is focused on highlighting the value that consultants bring to every project. The award celebrates their collaborations and their clients, focusing on many different aspects of construction including the enclosure, roofing, waterproofing, and exterior walls.

For the first time, IIBEC will be hosting a networking event for their Emerging Professionals on Sunday night of the convention.

“They are the future of our industry,” says Pallasch. “We’re going to bring them together to socialize and so that they can learn more about IIBEC.”

Of course, IIBEC is loaded with some amazing educational sessions as well. Attendees can expect about 24 different sessions to choose from. There are also three general sessions, which are mostly technical and available to everybody. One of these sessions includes a look at ASCE 7-22, Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures—a new design guide for tornado load requirements.

Brian also chats about the Certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Provider (CBECxP®) program. Now, building enclosure commissioning professionals may pursue the CBECxP designation by completing the CBECxP Application using the IIBEC online process. To date, 25 people have gotten the new designation. During the convention, IIBEC will be celebrating all new credential holders.

Lastly, Brian talks about keynote speaker, Nikki Greenberg. Kicking off the convention, Nikki’s address will go over the future of AI, how we will be working differently with teams, and how firms will be changing the way they work with people.

There’s still time to register to attend! Head to https://iibecconvention.org/ to learn more about what to expect at this year’s convention and trade show. We’ll see you all in Phoenix!
