The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) announced the winners of the 2024 Excellence in Asphalt Roofing Awards. This year marks a historic moment with not one but two gold medalists. The achievement highlights the exceptional talent, hard work, and dedication of the award recipients. From the restoration of a historic church to the development of an environmentally conscious apartment complex, each project embodies the core benefits of asphalt roofing systems.

“We garnered 94 submissions, with two projects achieving gold medal status, making it another triumphant year,” stated Reed Hitchcock, ARMA Executive Vice President. “The awards program continues to serve as a platform for honoring excellence, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in asphalt roofing, and inspiring the industry to reach new milestones.”

The program recognizes low- and steep-slope asphalt roofing projects across North America based on four categories: Why Asphalt, Project Challenges, Distinction, and Beauty. Projects with the highest scores are recognized with prestigious Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals. This year, ARMA has introduced Best-in-Class categories, enhancing diversity among winners and celebrating a broader range of achievements. These standout categories, which are awarded solely on judges’ nominations, include In the Neighborhood, Commercial/Mixed Use, Craftsmanship, and Technical Difficulty.
