September 19, 2023

International Interior Design Association (IIDA) announced the winners of the 2023 IIDA Healthcare Design Awards. These awards recognize design firms for creativity and innovation in the design of healthcare facilities across seven categories within Ambulatory, Extended Care and Assisted Living Facilities, and Hospitals.

“The ever-growing needs for healthcare environments are a critical focus locally, regionally and globally,” said IIDA Executive Vice President and CEO, Cheryl S. Durst, Hon. FIIDA. “It’s awe-inspiring to see designers like these bridging their creative visions with the care and composition of patients, functional needs of facilities administrators, and the communities they must serve from now and into the future.”

Projects were reviewed by a panel of healthcare design professionals, including Uphealing Inc. Founder and Principal, Lilliana Alvarado, IIDA, CHID; Page Principal and Interior Design Director, Aimee Burmaster Hicks, IIDA, CHID, RID; and PhiloWilke Director of Interiors, Stephanie Fallon, IIDA, CHID.

“This year’s winners displayed sophistication, boldness, and technicality – just a few of the important key elements needed to create advanced healthcare environments like these,” Burmaster Hicks said on behalf of the jury. “The jury was mesmerized with the multi-faceted achievements of these projects and how they are moving the future of the healthcare environment boldly forward.”
