The celebration for Building Safety Month continues with week two, which explores careers in building safety. This week, the Code Council along with its members and partners, invite everyone to discover how a career maintaining safe buildings and communities can make a lasting impact.

The building safety industry offers a wide range of career options including code officials, inspectors, permit technicians, fire marshals, plumbing professionals, plans examiners and more. Through its Safety 2.0 initiative, the Code Council provides resources for students, military veterans and others interested in working in the industry.

The second of four free, educational webinars will take place on May 10 from 2 - 3 pm ET. “Building Your Future: Career Paths for Military Veterans and Spouses” will feature a panel discussion on the challenges, opportunities and resources available for military veterans and military spouses considering a career in building safety.

“Demand for skilled construction professionals will be high for the foreseeable future,” said International Code Council Chief Executive Officer Dominic Sims, CBO. “Whether you’re a student, transitioning out of the military, or looking to change careers, I encourage you to explore how a career in building safety can equip you to protect your families and communities.”

This year’s Building Safety Month Foundational Sponsor is the American Gas Association. The sponsor of week two is the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. To see the full list of sponsors, click here.
