The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) announced its first official branch in Mexico City, Mexico, and now offers leadership activity in all of North America, with 27 chapters and 11 branches throughout the U.S., Canada, and now Mexico. The IIBEC Mexico City Branch was formed under the guidance of the IIBEC Gulf Coast Chapter.

“IIBEC’s formal expansion into Mexico through a branch further solidifies our commitment to truly becoming an international association,” stated IIBEC President Scott Hinesley.

“We are excited about the opportunities this brings to the building enclosure industry throughout North America,” IIBEC EVP and CEO Brian Pallasch remarked.

The association provides highly respected and sought-after certifications that distinguish professionals with proven standards of education, experience, and ethics. It offers educational programs, technical services, a monthly technical journal (IIBEC Interface), and ongoing international, regional, chapter, and branch events providing interactive forums for information exchange and networking. IIBEC advocates for responsible, cost-effective, and fair procurement practices in construction-related matters.

Its dedicated volunteers and staff recently published the 3rd edition of the IIBEC Manual of Practice, a general guide for practitioners of building enclosure consulting and quality assurance functions. Its two foundations (the RCI-IIBEC Foundation, Inc., and the RCI Foundation Canada) support research and educational efforts of the industry and introduce students to the profession.
