S-5! Metal Roof Innovations, the leading authority on metal roof attachment solutions, is offering a series of free educational webinars on a variety of solar and snow retention topics this week and twice-weekly throughout April.

On Wednesday, April 1 at 9.00 a.m. MST/11.00 a.m. EST., S-5! Architectural & National Accounts Director, Shelly Higgins, will present Snow Retention Devices: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, an AIA accredited course, which earns participants 1 LU/HSW  CEU credit.

In this webinar, she provides a framework for understanding the importance of snow retention on roofs. Higgins examines the various roof type applications and identifies applications that have proven to be most successful at retaining snow. Attendees will learn the critical need for proper planning, calculating, engineering and installation of snow retention systems.

Then, on Thursday, April 2 at 4.00 p.m. MST/6.00 p.m. EST, Dustin Haddock, S-5! VP of Research & Development, will present S-5! Attachment Technology Solutions for Solar Applications.

He’ll cover attachment solutions for solar applications, including the variety of S-5! brackets and clamps available. Participants will discover how fixing solar to metal roofing with S-5! provides a competitive advantage, and dive into how and why S-5! products are designed, customized, tested and certified. Haddock will also explain the difference between direct attach vs. rail-mounted systems.

In addition, he will cover the technical aspects of module layout, wire management, module-level power electronics and load distribution. Haddock will share some case studies and examples of solar applications. And, he will introduce S-5!’s new GripperFix product used to mount HVAC systems, satellite equipment, isolators, combiner boxes, fall protection, service walkways and more.
