CetraRuddy Expands Roles for Key Architects and Designers

CentraRuddy
September 26, 2018

Reflecting the firm’s growth across a wide range of market sectors and continued commitment to integrated architecture and interior design for large-scale urban and experiential lifestyle projects, CetraRuddy has announced the promotion of two key design professionals: Ximena Hoyos, LEED AP ID+C, and Willis Ting, who have both have been elevated to the position of Associate.

“These two practitioners represent an emerging generation of architecture and interiors leadership for CetraRuddy, and their passionate dedication and combined experience reflect the value we add for all our clients,” said Nancy J. Ruddy, co-founding principal and executive director of interior design at CetraRuddy. “We are proud to recognize the significant roles that each of them play both within the firm, and within our professional community.”

These promotions for Hoyos and Ting acknowledge their emerging leadership roles within the firm, and reflect their embodiment of CetraRuddy’s core values through continued engagement in team building, active mentorship of others in their areas of expertise, and effective collaboration with clients to ensure successful project design and delivery.

The new leadership roles also mirror global growth for CetraRuddy, as they are designing a new tower in Toronto and recently completed the 20 Stories rooftop restaurant in Manchester, U.K., as well as several new K-12 schools in India. In Manhattan, where the firm has designed over 80 buildings, their recent work includes significant multifamily projects such as ARO; a new residential tower, commercial properties including the 412 West 15th Street urban office complex, and several new restaurants opening later this year.

About the Designers

Ximena Hoyos, LEED AP ID+C
Associate

With two decades of professional experience with wide involvement in the fields of architecture and interior design, Ximena Hoyos is an accomplished designer experienced in multifamily residential and hospitality developments. Trained as an architect, the Colombian-born Hoyos first joined CetraRuddy as an interior architect in 2007. In her time at CetraRuddy, Hoyos has contributed design expertise and management to a number of notable projects, including the recently completed 535W43, a 280-unit, two-building apartment community in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan and the 373-key Galleria hotel restaurant and retail complex, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Hoyos has also been instrumental in fostering CetraRuddy’s longstanding relationship with PENCIL, an organization that facilitates mentorship partnerships between New York City businesses and public schools.

Willis Ting
Associate

Since joining CetraRuddy in 2012, Willis Ting has become a core member of the firm’s design and management teams. As a project manager, he brings a passionate and holistic worldview, seeing projects through all stages to completion. Ting also has deep experience and an advanced understanding of the design and construction processes. In his time at CetraRuddy, Ting has played key roles in major new construction developments, historic landmark renovations, and adaptive reuse expansions across the globe. Recent work includes 12 East 13th Street, the conversion of a former parking garage into a luxury condominium and retail property and 22 Chapel, a 20-story apartment tower in Downtown Brooklyn.
