DXA Studio Announces Five New Team Members

Breaking News 4
March 1, 2018

DXA studio, a New York based architecture and design firm known for a diverse range of projects primarily in Manhattan and Brooklyn, has announced that five new members have joined their growing team.  Their new hires are as follows:

Román Falcón, Intermediate Designer
Román received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and his Masters in Architecture from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura.  Before joining DXA studio, Roman held design and architecture positions at Gabellini Sheppard Associates and ODA Architecture.

Allysa Taylor, Intermediate Designer
Allysa attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa School of Architecture, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainable Architecture and Design, using the unique geographical location of the school to explore ways of living and building more efficiently. Allysa has previously worked as an Intern at O’Neill Rose Architects, where she assisted with housing and competition projects, including the award-winning Choy House. Allysa worked on many projects for non-profit, community, and educational groups in the tristate area including an extensive renovation of the historic Hotel Chelsea, where she was responsible for the design and execution of renovating the building’s tenant apartments.

Kelly McFadden, Junior Architect
Kelly received her Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. During her time there, she was a founding member of the Global Architecture Brigade, a student collaboration that proposed sustainable design solutions to underdeveloped communities abroad. Since moving to New York in 2015, Kelly has worked at Viñoly Architects, where she managed the design of the residential segment of an international award winning, mixed-use development in California, as well as a 500’ residential tower in Manhattan.

David Scurry, Junior Designer
David received his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 2016, where he received awards for his drawing abilities and achievement in history and theory of art and architecture.  Before joining DXA studio, David spent a year in North Africa, working with an art group in event planning, graphic design, and immersing himself in the local culture, and he held an internship at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.

Gregory Crane, Office Manager
In his role at DXA studio, Greg will provide HR support for company staff, manage day to day operations, oversee bookkeeping responsibilities, and support the company partners.  Greg has over fifteen years as an office manager, and has previously held similar positions at architecture firms including Steven Harris Architects, Lebowitz Gould Design, Inc., and Loci Architecture.

“We are very pleased to welcome these five exceptional employees to the DXA studio team,” said Jordan Rogove, a partner at DXA studio.  “As we continue to grow, their diverse backgrounds and unique work experiences will add a new dimension as we take on more exciting projects.”

“Each of these new team members brings extensive expertise to different aspects of architecture and design,” said Wayne Norbeck, a partner at DXA studio.  “The caliber of their work and the lessons learned on such a broad range of projects will be a great asset to DXA.”
