ATAS International Inc. announced that Chris Kroeter, Product Representative for Metro New York and Northern New Jersey, has recently earned the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Certified Construction Product Representative (CCPR) certification.  Also, Kevin Cox, Product Representative for North Carolina, South Carolina, and southern Virginia, has passed the CSI Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) exam.

According to CSI, the CDT program provides a comprehensive overview for anyone who writes, interprets, enforces, or manages construction documents. Project architects, specifiers, contractors, contract administrators, material suppliers, and manufacturers' representatives all realize the advantages of being Construction Documents Technologists.  By being able to understand and interpret written construction documents, CDTs perform their jobs more effectively. Also, by understanding the roles and relationships of all participants, CDTs improve communication among all members of the construction team.

Once the CDT has been earned, a Product Representative may continue their education to earn the CCPR professional accreditation.  This program delves into the specific knowledge needed for a Product Representative to enhance their career and become a valued resource in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry.  There are only 168 CSI members who currently hold this certification.  To maintain it, CCPRs must earn continuing education credits to be able to renew their certification.

Certificate and certification program materials are a component of the CSI Corporate Partner program, and in 2010, ATAS was the second company to become a CSI Corporate Partner.  ATAS sales professionals across the country are active in their local CSI chapters, as well as at the regional and institute levels within the organization.  

Chris and Kevin join a long list of ATAS professionals that have achieved the CDT certificate and other accreditations. The company currently has 14 CDTs, two CCPRs, three LEED APs (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional), and three LEED Green Associates.  As well, in 2015, the Metal Construction Association (MCA) introduced a new course on metal roof installation, and 14 employees have completed the program, becoming trained metal roof installers. ATAS was involved with the MCA in the development of this certification program since its inception.
