Rounding out a year of prestigious honors and awards, the architecture, interiors and branding firm Carrier Johnson + CULTURE has been named the top architecture firm in its metropolitan area by the San Diego Businesses Journal Book of Lists, a prominent reference guide that compiles more than 90 rankings for the local and regional business community. This recognition follows a number of other recent honors for the firm in areas such as design, business practices and philanthropic works. For this latest win Carrier Johnson + CULTURE is noted for topping a list of 57 firms operating as architects in the city, in a ranking reflecting a number of factors including the firm’s depth, level of activity, construction volume and firm size.

Carrier Johnson + CULTURE had been recognized in recent months for its building projects and business practices by notable architecture publications. The firm’s design of the new science center at Point Loma Nazarene University earned honors as Building of the Year for the western United States by The Architect’s Newspaper in their recent Best of Design Awards for 2017. In addition, the firm is included on Architect Magazine’s list of the “Top 50 Firms in Business” as well as recent rankings of “architecture giants” in Building Design + Construction, Interior Design Magazine, and Engineering News-Record.

Carrier Johnson + CULTURE also received a prestigious Malin Burnham Award last fall—recognizing the firm’s commitment to community and good works — in the category of “Most Admired Business/Corporation.”

“At Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, we take great pride in designing and delivering built projects that make San Diego a better place to live, work, and connect.” says Vincent Mudd Managing Partner and Principal. “Seeing our name at the top of San Diego Business Journal’s list of architecture firms reinforces our commitment and serves as a valuable reminder that our efforts to build a better city are being recognized.”
