As part of a commitment to enhancing global well-being, EYP Architecture and Engineering has announced its participation in the Sustainability and Health Initiative for NetPositive Enterprise (SHINE) program, a program at the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The Center identifies innovations that can improve the health of people and the environments in which they live and work and, through its SHINE Program, the Center unites academic institutions and private companies to help corporations quantify their positive global impacts and identify opportunities for change. Operating as a trilateral force, SHINE strives to benefit the overall health of corporations’ employees and families, the general public and the environment.
 
EYP has specifically contributed to the development of an open-sourced tool, the Health and Human Performance Index, to create a common language in defining and measuring well-being as it relates to the built environment. Piloted among EYP’s own employee population, the tool has provided a way to evaluate organizational well-being across a variety of work settings. EYP has also provided additional data to ensure that SHINE has the ability to fully unlock the potential of this tool and understand the many dimensions of workplace well-being.
